Our Club

In 1948, three years after WW2, a group of Basing enthusiasts got together to form the Old Basing Bowling Club. In the intervening years many villagers and other folk from the town of Basingstoke have enjoyed the game of bowls on the same green and developed the facilities that exist in the club today. Situated in the greater Old Basing and Lychpit parish, our fantastic, friendly club boasts great facilities, fun events and one of the best greens in Hampshire – with six rinks.

Whether you want to find a new hobby, new friends, improve your game, get in shape or just have some fun with your own family and friends, come on down to Old Basing Bowling Club and meet our members.

Our club holds affiliations with Bowls England, Bowls Hampshire, the Basingstoke District Bowling Association, the Whitchurch and District Bowling League, and the North Hants Women's Bowling Association.

President's Welcome

As I enter my 10th year as a member of Old Basing Bowls Club I am delighted and honoured to be the president this year.

It's pleasing to see a growing membership and a club moving into the 21st century in good fettle.

With the new committee, we will endeavour to keep building on our fine reputation within Hampshire and the wider bowling community.

Enjoy your bowls this season, whether in competitive or friendly arena's, I hope you have many memorable shots!
