Our Club
In 1948, three years after WW2, a group of Basing enthusiasts got together to form the Old Basing Bowling Club. In the intervening years many villagers and other folk from the town of Basingstoke have enjoyed the game of bowls on the same green and developed the facilities that exist in the club today. Situated in the greater Old Basing and Lychpit parish, our fantastic, friendly club boasts great facilities, fun events and one of the best greens in Hampshire – with six rinks.
Whether you want to find a new hobby, new friends, improve your game, get in shape or just have some fun with your own family and friends, come on down to Old Basing Bowling Club and meet our members.
Our club holds affiliations with Bowls England, Bowls Hampshire, the Basingstoke and District Bowling Association, the Whitchurch and District Bowling League, and the North Hants Women's Bowling Association.

Opening Hours:
The outdoor season generally runs from mid-April to mid-September when there is a regular series of events and competitions held each week.
We have open sessions (rollups) every Tuesday at 6pm and Friday at 2pm where you are very welcome to come meet us to find out more.
On many Saturdays and Sundays throughout the season there are club events which include friendlies with other clubs. Plus there are frequent club days or tournaments where we play within the club.
On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday evenings there are often league fixtures where we play games against other local clubs.
We hope to see you soon!

President's Welcome
As we approach the 2026 outdoor bowling season I am, once again, pleased to be the president of Old Basing Bowling Club.
We hope that, as last year, we will attract more new people to our sport. For those who have just moved into the area and are looking to make new friends and socialise then look no further than our club where a warm welcome can be found.
Coaching is available and competitive bowling in our leagues and county endeavours is assured, or just join in our low key weekend friendly games or weekly roll ups.
This year our fundraising efforts will be donated to The Alzheimer's Society.
Let's meet up on the green !
