County Badge Award

On Tuesday, 21st July two of our players, Stella Hayden and Anita Christian were part of the team representing Hampshire in a Ladies County Friendly v Berkshire at Burghfield Bowling Club. 

Covid restrictions hampered the usual order of the day... there was no formal meal and speeches afterwards, but the ladies were happy to play in their first friendly of the year... albeit on one of the hottest days!

Presentations by Mandy Orchard,  President of the H.W.B.A. took place prior to the game. Anita Christian was delighted to be awarded her County Badge. This is earnt by accumulating a set number of "County Points", which come from winning individual club singles,  N.H.W.B.A., or County Competitions, topped up by playing in County Friendly matches. 

I believe it is many years since an Old Basing Lady was "badged", but hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the next time.
